Independent Insurer Assessments

We provide Independent Insurer Assessments for children, adolescents and adults.

What is a Independent Insurer Assessment? An Independent Insurer Examination is an assessment conducted on the request of an insurance company to help better understand the cause and extent of an injury as well as the reasonable and necessary treatment needs.  Our psychologists conduct Comprehensive Psychological Assessments, Psychovocational/Career Psychological Assessments and Catastrophic Psychological Assessments (to determine eligibility for Catastrophic Impairment designation).

What to expect Assessments of adolescents and adults generally take three or more hours to complete and consist of a clinical interview, review of file information and completion of psychological measures.  Assessments of very young children also include a parent-child component with the consideration of developmental and attachment issues.  Once the clinical information is gathered, the measures are scored and interpreted and a psychological assessment report is written, which outlines the assessment findings and answers any questions posed by the insurance company.
